- In container B put in 10% clorox
- In container C put in 25% clorox
- In container D put in 50% clorox
- For steps 4-7 be sure to be wearing gloves so you don't get the bleach on yourself
- With every container put the screen over it and secure it with a rubberband
- The next following days pour out old Clorox/water then put the amount of liquid assigned for each container (WEAR GLOVES) once a day.
- By the end of 7 days, calculate and record the seed germination for each container
Data
Summary
With just 25% water about less than 50% of the seeds germinated. . Comparing the results of the germination for clorox and water there was a huge difference. Even in 10% clorox only 4 seeds germinated, comparing that to the 16 seeds that germinated in water, many of the seeds did not germinate. The highest concentration of clorox was in container D which only germinated 1 seed. It looked like the seed germination decreased as clorox concentration increased.
